Behind The Brand

I’m Joe, founder, designer and maker of Oscar & Digby, every bamboo piece is handcrafted by me in our Suffolk workshop, where a passion for craftsmanship, natural materials and thoughtful design comes together in every product we create.

Like many great ideas, Oscar & Digby started with our own home. Inspired by Oscar, our much loved dog, we wanted a dog bed that looked beautiful, offered exceptional comfort and felt like it truly belonged alongside the furniture we had carefully chosen for our home. When we couldn’t find it, we decided to make it ourselves.

As the business has grown, so has our vision.

Today, Oscar & Digby is no longer just about dog beds its about creating beautiful, functional products that celebrates the way that we live. Our home is full of the things that inspire us every day, and those passions naturally shape the collections I design.

I’m a self confessed indoor plant enthusiast and watch collector. I appreciate timeless craftsmanship, quality materials and products that are made to last. My wife, Lesley, is happiest with a good book in hand, creating warm and inviting spaces where family friends and dogs all feel at home.

Those shared interests have become the heart of Oscar & Digby. Whether we’re designing elegant dog furniture, stylish home accessories or lifestyle products inspired by our own home, every piece begins with the same question:

Would we proudly have this in our own home?

If the answer isn’t yes, it doesn’t become an Oscar & Digby product.

Every bamboo piece is handcrafted using responsibly sourced FSC Certified bamboo and the cushions for the dog beds are expertly handmade in Yorkshire.

Sustainability remains central to everything we do, from recycled materials environmentally friendly packaging to our commitment to planting a tree with every bamboo product sold.

We’re proud to be a small British family business, designing products that blend craftsmanship, sustainability and timeless style. Craftsman, indoor plant collector and watch enthusiast. Joe’s love of natural materials, precision craftsmanship and timeless design is reflected in every Oscar & Digby creation.

Lesley – Creative Inspiration & Postie

Book lover and top seller at shows! Lesley looks after some of the behind the scenes elements and is often front and centre of the stand during fairs and shows where she can proudly talk about Joe’s hard work, she is also the one who pops to the post office to post your carefully wrapped orders.

Oscar – Chief Inspiration & Product Tester

The dog who started it all, Oscar reminds us every day that great design should be shared by every member of the family including those with four paws!

And who is Digby?

Well Digby is dog number 2….. eventually! he isn’t here yet, but we know when we are ready to expand our home and family Digby will be just as loved as Oscar.
